Probability is how likely something to happen, probability comes in many forms like odds, percentage and likelihood. As long as it is random between 0 and 1.
It was also helpful to learn that in an exam i should write my answers as both fractions and as a number between 0 and 1 e.g 0.5 and 1/2.
Probability of an event happening = Number of ways it could happen/ Total number of outcomes.
Probability terminology that i wasn't aware of include:
Experiment: a repeatable procedure with a set of possible results
Outcome: a repeatable procedure with a set of possible results.
Sample Space: A possible result of an experiment.
Sample Point: just one of the possible outcomes
Event: single or multiple outcomes of an experiment (e.g dice rolls higher than 3)
i was also unaware that if they word of the question has the word OR you add your probability together and if it had the word AND you multiply your probability.
