Number sets

N = Natural numbers are whole numbers from 1 and upwards e.g. 1,2,3,4,5.


Z = Integers are the whole numbers and they can be positive or negative 1 is a integer and 0.5 is not.


Q = Rational numbers these are numbers you get by dividing one integer by another but not by zero e.g. 5/2=2.5


A = Algebraic numbers is a solutions to a polynomial equation with rational coefficients.


R = Real numbers are all rational and irrational numbers they can be positive, negative or zero e.g. 2.7, -7.3 and 67.


I = Imaginary Numbers that when squared give a negative result.


C = Complex numbers are a combination of a real and imaginary.
