Kinematics- The movement/motion of an object.
Stop motion- Frame by frame movement of individual pieces to get an animation.
Zoetrope- Spinning images to make it look like its in motion.
Frame- a single still is an image from a video.
Iteration- How many time a sequence should be played
I knew most of these concepts from learning through things like youtube however i didn't know what Iteration meant in the context of animation so its great to add that.

In 1834 a Zoetrope came which is a cylinder that has slits that are equality distanced apart and if you put slides of film in it and spin it creates the illusion of motion and animation.
Persistence of vision is when our retina keeps an image for a brief second after the image was actually seen.
illusions of motion happen when we view images in quickly timed sequence to one another (high than human retina can capture.)
Persistence fills in the gap to make the motion seamless and anything less than 24FPS we can see the gaps.
Eadweard Muybridge created one of the first animation in 1879 by having a horse and rider ride in front of a gridded screen and took pictures of it and then drew over the images to make silhouettes of the horse running then pieced them together to make the first animation. He then continued to do this with other animals like birds and then also humans.

The lumiere brothers were pioneers of cinema by creating the cinematographe which translate to "writing movement". The first half cinema comes from the greek word "Kinema" which means movement and the other half "Graphein" means to write. So together you get writing movement.
