Story-Generate an idea for the story and the director needs a vision
story board- draw out the comic book version of the movie so that they can get the visual aspect
Editorial- put the storyboard together to make a basic version of the movie use temp voices and music
Art- Visual development artist help develop the look of the film e.g. character, props and environment
Modelling-They create the 3d models of the character, props and environment using 2D art work from the art department
Rigging- Adding a skeleton, muscle and fat that dictate how the character moves like expressions
Texturing- They add textures to the objects that are made. Like adding rust to metal
Rough layout- They layout the characters and cinematography
Animation-They use the rig and key frame it to move the character
Crowds- They deal with extras and giant crowds like using premade animations to place in the scene
Character effects- Clothing, hair and water simulations anything that the characters deal with
FX- They do footprints leaf's, fire and smoke.
Matte painting- They do beyond the set like sky's and city scapes.
Lighting- They light the scene and composite the scene
Image final - Clean up rendering issues and artifacts
Composing- They create the score and add music and do sound
